Longan is a small, round tropical fruit originally from South Asia, which is closely related to Litchi (Litchi) and Rambutan. The name means "Dragon's Eye" in Chinese, because when it is peeled, the juicy flesh inside looks like an eye. The fruit has yellow, beige to light brown thin shell that are easily removable. The inside is pearly white, soft, and extremely juicy, giving a delicate, sweet taste, less acidic than litchi, making it smoother on the palate. Logan is often enjoyed fresh but also used in Asian desserts, soup, herbal teas, and dried snacks.
